Dr. Rowen is in private practice at NVISION Eye Center in Newport Beach, CA. She gained a worldwide reputation in her field after being one of the first ophthalmologists in the nation to offer “instant vision” surgery.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her surgical internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, along with a two-year research fellowship at the Hospital’s prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute. Dr. Rowen served as a Research Assistant for the National Institute of Health and the National Cancer Institute. She later completed a three-year residency in Ophthalmology with the University of Maryland. Dr. Rowen has served as a Clinical Instructor at Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery; she also served on the Board of Trustees for the ISCLS (International Society of Cosmetic Laser Systems). She lectures both nationally and internationally.
